The research in the "Laboratory for Simulation in Physics" (LSP) is oriented to the study of phenomena involving topological excitations (kinks and vortices, for example), behavior of polymers and biopolymers and the development of numerical methods applied to the computer simulation. The numerical techniques used are classical and quantum Monte Carlo and Molecular Dynamics as well as analytical techniques of field theory applied to statistical mechanics. At the moment I'm the Director of the Laboratory for Scientific Computation (LCC)/CENAPD - UFMG
